Endoscopic retrograde HDR-Ir192 intraluminal brachytherapy in biliary cancers

Purpose: The treatment of biliary cancer by HDR-Ir192 intraluminal brachytherapy (ILBT) could be performed by transhepatic route or by endoscopic retrograde way when a transhepatic approach isn't possible for clinical or technical causes. This last approach requires, for each fraction, an endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography. We describe the feasibility of a new technique to administer ILBT through a permanent nasobiliary catheter.
