摘要
The University of Oklahoma summer geology field camp in Colorado gives junior and senior undergraduate geology majors an opportunity to apply principles learned in class to actual mapping challenges. From 1947 to 1948, the camp was located near Crested Butte, Colorado, but it moved to a new location northeast of Canon City in 1949 (Huffman, 1990). Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma jointly used this location along 8-Mile Creek until 1986 when the OU students began staying at the Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City (Figure 1). Accommodation and working space in the new location were in the residence hall of the former Abbey boys' school.
