Reliability Issues in Regional Health Networks

Reliability engineering methods and techniques denotes a new area of research and application in the health care domain. The health care environment becomes more complex not only because of the complicated clinical and other processes in a health unit but also because of clinical, administrative and other processes in the cross-organizational environment of Regional Health Networks. A synopsis on the reliability requirements in the complex systems supporting the regional health networks and a bibliographic evidence of the use of reliability methods in the healthcare domain is included. A list of obstacles to apply new methods and models is also mentioned.
