INFORMATION RETRIEVAL IN FLIGHT SEARCHING

The present project work applies the techniques of information retrieval field, such us: fuzzy set the ory, searching, ranking and measure of criterias, to provide the information related to the search for flights. Utililizing the characteristics that belo ngs to this service provided to costumers by airlines and travel agencies through the World Wide Web, a system that present the retrieved information in a useful way and that responds to the user's requirements, is the aim. The proposal that follows present the way to offer the user the possible flights related to the query ranked in a relevance that includes the matches of the index terms and their evaluation with respect to the price and airline rank. This last criteria is in the base that the best choice also requires quality, to get an index for the answers in an order that give the idea of comparisons among them, is more useful to analyze.
