HOW TO IMPROVE THE RESULTS IN THE SUBJECT "PROGRAMMING METHODOLOGY AND TECHNOLOGY" BY MEANS OF A VIRTUAL CAMPUS

We describe in this paper the virtualization process for the subject "Programing Methodology and Technology" of the degree on Computer Science at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). Every year, our students have to face the same dificulties: the lack of previous basic knowledge, the high conceptual and the theoretical character of the subject, and the collective and inherited fear. In this context, we are involved in an Educative Innovation Proyect to use the Virtual Campus of the UCM as a support of the teaching. In this proyect we try to solve some of the previous problems by using the capabilities of the Virtual Campus. We have considered two main objectives: the development of an innovating educative methodology offering teaching solutions and tactics based on the new Information Technologies. The second objective is to offer a set of educative Web resources that will be the base of the developed methodology.
