Significance of Expression of APOBEC3G mRNA in PBMC of Chronic Hepatitis B Patients

Objective To examine the relationship between APOBEC3G mRNA level in peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) and hepatitis B infection.Method Real-time fluorescence relative quantitative RT-PCR was used to quantify APOBEC3G mRNA levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from 12 HBV-uninfected subjects and 27 patients with chronic hepatitis B disease. Besides,HBV viral loads and ALT were detected too. Result APOBEC3G mRNA levels in hepatitis B patients were higher than that in HBV-uninfected subjects(P0.01)and were correlated with HBV viral loads directly(r=0.73,P0.01). In contrast, ALT was not relative with APOBEC3G mRNA transcription in vivo. Conclusion APOBEC3G might not directly play an inhibitive effect on HBV replication directly in vivo.
