Content protection for MPEG-4 video based on non-uniform DCT

Because of the huge size of video data and the need of real-time processing,the efficiency of encryption is often vital for video content protection.In the framework of MPEG-4,this paper proposed a new video protection scheme.It adopted non-uniform DCT(NDCT),instead of the common DCT that had been used in the codec,to protect video in transform domain,and took the parameters as a private key,which controled the non-uniformity of the NDCT.The time and space cost of the scheme was nearly the same as the normal processing of encoding and decoding,since there was no specially introduced encryption module.And for many applications,it met the requirements of protection effect,and security.
