摘要
Knowledge of portal segmentation and its variants is essential when approaching hepatic surgery. The distribution of the portal vessels in the liver allows the definition of the vascular fissures of the organ. Each fissure contains the corresponding efferent hepatic vein. Although numerous anatomic studies have led to the acquisition of this knowledge, modern imaging techniques (e.g., ultrasound, CT, and MR imaging) allow a better understanding of the topographic arrangement of the intrahepatic vessels.
