Analysis of the extraction model in orthodontic treatment between patients with periodontal diseases and without.

AIM:To analyze the differences of extraction model between orthodontic patients with periodontal diseases and without.METHODS:In the department of orthodontics in Shandong university during the year of 2000 to 2006,566 orthodontic patients needing extraction were selected.All data were analyzed by SAS 10.0 software.RESULTS: In 137 patients with periodontal diseases,87 cases were treated in strategic extraction model.There are significant difference in extraction model between orthodontic patients with periodontal diseases and orthodontic patients without periodontal diseases.CONCLUSION:Strategic extraction model are more suitable to orthodontic patients with periodontal diseases.
