Collaborative compound document editing : the CoCoDoc framework and its applications

We demonstrate collaborative compound document editing, a new paradigm for collaborative editing environments. In particular, we demonstrate CoCoDoc (3), a framework based on OpenDoc and CORBA (6). Most features of the system will be demonstrated with CoCoTreePart, a simple collaborative compound outline editor developed with the CoCoDoc framework. Novel characteristics of the CoCoDoc framework mainly result from the unique combination of the compound document editing paradigm and the collaborative editing paradigm, a combination that has hardly been studied up to now.
