Open Standards for PDK Components

The cost of Physical Design Kit (PDK) development and maintenance increases with the increasing complexity of each new technology node. New challenges in kit production arise and must be addressed before sub-28nm technologies begin the ramp to production. At the same time, design release schedules are also tightening, requiring that the first PDKs released to designers be production-ready. Thus, it is critical that we bring every PDK efficiency and productivity improvement to bear as we begin the development of technologies beyond 28nm.
