The reaction of isomeric dinaphthofurans with chromium hexacarbonyl (12 mole ratio) in boiling dibutyl ether leads to mono- and bis(chromium tricarbonyl) complexes. Steric factors chiefly govern the bonding of a second chromium tricarbonyl group.
