Coding for a CDMA-System with Higher User Data Rates by Combining Several Traffic Channels

In the downlink of a CDMA system(IS-95), combining several traffic channelsprovides the user with a higher data rate forfuture services. Besides the extended datarate, we achieve a large gain by using parallelconcatenated convolutional codes ("turbo"-codes) instead of convolutional codes given inthe standard IS-95.
