Laparoscopic Treatment of Adnexal Torsion: A Report of Three Cases and a Review of the Literature

Adnexal torsion is a rare but serious condition that affects women of all ages, There are no pathognomonic symptoms, but early diagnosis and treatment are necessary if the tube and ovary are to be preserved, Delay in diagnosis not only may result in complete loss of the affected organ but also may cause subsequent peritonitis. We report three cases, illustrating that laparoscopy allows correct assessment of the extent of damage and implementation of immediate treatment of the twisted organs, The literature is reviewed.
