Gamma Ray Detection in DC Glowlike Discharge with Deuterated Palladium Electrode

摘要
Anomalous gamma ray emissions with different energies in the 80-230keV region were observed during DC glowlike discharge using a palladium cathode in deuterium atmosphere. Gamma ray signals were assumed to originate from some radio isotopes produced by a fissionlike process at low energy. A low-energy photofission model indicates the possibility of a low-energy fission reaction under our discharge condition.
