Cross-Linked Peptoid-Based Dimerization Inhibitors of Hiv-1 Protease

Peptoid-based agents that target viral protein–protein interactions within the dimerization interface of HIV-1 protease (PR) are disclosed. The potency obtained is quite remarkable considering that five side-chain moieties were relocated in the peptoid structures, and the hydrogen-bonding network within the dimerization interface was compromised. These data show the importance of inhibitor side-chain interactions with HIV-1 PR.
