Proceedings of the 4th international symposium on Non-photorealistic animation and rendering

Welcome to NPAR 2006, the fourth meeting of the International Symposium on Non-Photorealistic Animation and Rendering. The symposium is held June 5-7, 2006 in Annecy, France, in conjunction with the Annecy International Animation Festival. The symposium brings together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry, and showcases cutting-edge research in systems and techniques for nonphotorealistic animation and rendering.After the submission deadline in October, we assigned each of 43 submissions to three committee members, who in turn recruited one additional reviewer from the broader community. At the end of the review period, committee members reached a consensus decision for each submission based on initial recommendations for their assigned papers and open discussion among all committee members. We settled upon the final set of 16 papers collected in this volume. Some of these papers were accepted only subject to suggested revisions, and individual committee members undertook the additional responsibility of making sure that these revisions were carried out.
