The interpretation of echo experiments

The interpretation of echo experiments using the stochastic theory of Loring and Mukamel is treated. the phase relaxation process is modeled in terms of two independent modulations of the observed transition frequency. With this model the time-dependentbehaviour of the echo signal as function of the relevant parameters can be calculated, thus enabling a detailed interpretation of echo experiments in general.
