Spectroscopic Properties Of Phenyl-Sulfur Based Conducting Polymer Systems

Electronic spectra of poly-p-phenylene sulfide (PPS) and its oligomers doped in TaF5/CH2Cl2 solutions are reported. Ab initio calculations for diphenyl sulfide and 1,4-bis(phenylthio)-benzene in the neutral and oxidated forms allow the understanding of the evolution of the electronic spectral pattern in the VIS-NIR region upon increasing the number of the PHI-S units.
