A Study of Pd-Ru on Nickel Foam Cathode for Magnesium-hydrogen Peroxide Semi-fuel Cells

The Pd-Ru /Ni electrodes were prepared by electrodeposition of Pd and Ru on the nickel foam surface.The structure and composition of the Pd-Ru catalysts were analyzed using SEM.The catalytic performance of Pd-Ru/Ni for H2O2 electroreduction at different concentrations of H2O2 were investigated by linear potential sweep method.The magnesium-hydrogen peroxide semi-fuel cells using AZ31 magnesium alloys as anode and Pd-Ru/Ni as cathode were assembled and tested.It was found that the fuel cell with 0.4 mol/L H2O2 demonstrats a maximum power density of 195 mW/cm2 and the corresponding cell voltage is 1.25 V.
