A fast time-frequency analysis method for multi-component signals

The existing time-frequency analysis methods for multi-component signals have extremely high computational complexity and therefore have many difficulties in real-time signal processing. To solve this problem, a fast time-frequency analysis method for multi-component signals is proposed. Through using the time-frequency transform of signal stream window by window in time domain, the method fulfills speedily time-frequency analysis of signals. The main calculation of this method lies in Short Time Fourier Transform. Thus it has low time and space complexity, which is very helpful to implement in engineering applications. Performance analysis results show that the proposed algorithm has high time-frequency resolution, and avoids the interference of cross-terms, and can analyze low SNR signal effectively.
