Temperature-dependent photoabsorption cross sections of H2S in the 1600–2600 Å region

Using synchrotron radiation as a continuum light source, we have measured the absolute photoabsorption cross sections of H2S from 1600 to 2600Å under temperature conditions of 370, 295, and 170K and a spectral bandwidth (FWHM) of 0.6Å. Moderate temperature effects are observed in the 1850–2100Å and the absorption threshold regions. The peak, 1609.4Å, which is assigned to a hot band transition, B̃1A2 (0,0,0)–X̃1A1 (0,1,0), shows pronounced temperature effect.
