Template Synthesis and Characterization of Macrocyclic Complexes of Trivalent Metal Ions Derived from Oxalyldihydrazide and Isatin

A new series of complexes of the type [M(C20H14N10O4)X]X-2; where M = Cr(III), Fe(III) and X = Cl-, NO3-, CH3COO- have been I synthesised by template condensation reaction of oxalyldihydrazide and isatin resulting into the formation of the macrocyclic complexes. The complexes has been characterized with the help of elemental analyses and conductance measurements, electronic, IR, Far IR, mass spectral studies and these metal complexes were also tested-for their in vitro antimicrobial activities to assess their inhibiting potential.
