Numerical Analysis on the Mechanical Properties of Geosynthetic Reinforced and Pile Supported Embankment

The three-dimensional model of geosynthetic reinforced and pile supported(GRPS) embankment was established by ABAQUS finite element software.The impact of the key parameters,such as the pile spacing,the size of pile cap,the modulus of soft soil,the modulus of sublayer and the geogrid,on the GRPS settlement,the pile-soil stress,the stress above the bedding,the stress of the reinforced bedding,the pile-soil loads and geosynthetic tension were simulated and analyzed.The results show that the modulus of the soft soil obviously affects the soil-pile differential settlement.Arch effect appears clearly in subgrade body due to the stress concentration.The vertical stress of the reinforced bedding decreases with the increase of the modulus of the sublayer,the soft soil and the replacement ratio,while increases with the increase of the geogrid modulus.The geosynthetic vertical deformation of the geogrid between two pile caps is approximately to the suspended cable,the upper tension is 0.4 times more than that of the sublayer.
