摘要

The absorption of π − at rest on 12 C leading to 11 Be is measured using the activation technique. The probability for single proton emission per stopped pion is (4.5 ± 0.8) × 10 −4 . Production of 8 Li is also observed with a probability of (8 ± 4) × 10 −3 per stopped pion.
