A general purpose synchronization mechanism for a parallel computershould allow arbitrary, data-dependent, dynamically partitioned groups ofprocessors to remain internally synchronized, while proceeding asynchronouslywith respect to other groups. We present an algorithm which cansupport such a scheme.
