Sarcoidosis of the head and neck

Head and neck involvement occurs in approximately 9% of all sarcoid patients; of these patients, many will initially present with symptoms related to this region. 1 In the following pages, head and neck manifestations of sarcoidosis are reviewed. Involvement of the auditory system, nose, nasopharynx, paranasal sinuses, larynx, pharynx, salivary glands, and cervical lymph nodes is discussed. Ocular involvement is not included as it is reviewed in chapter 14.
