摘要
Pyramidal microcavities coupled to distributed feedback reflectors (DBRs) substantially modified the DBR stop-bands and the physical origin was theoretically studied. This was attributed to the change of the DBR surface reflection phases with the formation of the pyramidal structures. The theoretically predicted variation of the reflection spectra was qualitatively reproduced with the reflection measurements on the DBR where ZnS pyramids were formed on the surface. Based on these examinations, the increase of the DBR periods is proposed to realize more stable DBR operations against the formation of the pyramids on its surface.
