A DIMENSÃO IMAGINÁRIA DO VÍRUS HIV-AIDS ENTRE HOMENS HOMOEROTICAMENTE ORIENTADOS QUE TÊM OU TIVERAM RELACIONAMENTOS AFETIVO-SEXUAIS ESTÁVEIS

The psychic imaginary is not only fantasy producer it is also an active element in human action. This study was carried out in order to make some aspects clear about the imaginary dynamic referring to the sexuality. The imaginary factor analyzed was the lover's faithfulness. In a stable-sexual- relationship the fact the person considers to be engaged to someone else could be an influencing factor regarding the exposition to risks of death caused by unsafe sexual practices. METHODOLOGY - The individuals were homosexual men, was belonged to Belém middle class, with university degree. The methodology used was qualitative, Life History approach. The data was collected through semi-directed interviews. RESULT - The interviews showed that the meaning of the word faithfulness was surrounded by the ideas of "confidence", "sincerity", "exclusivity". The importance of this value in this relationships was highly measured. They put the faithfulness as an "imaginary wall" to AIDS protection, because these individuals had the imaginary dimension of the HIV virus diminished, not realizing the high exposition level to which they were submitted.
