Techniques for Genetic Analysis and Mouse Models for Human Disease

The mouse is an ideal model organism for human disease. Not only are mice physiologically similar to human disease, but a large genetic reservoir of potential models for human disease has been generated. Since the “Human Genomic and Mouse Genomic Project" have been finished, a number of new techniques,such as transgenic animal, gene knockout, gene knock in, genome analysis system for large-scale mutagenesis had dramatically increased our ability to clone new susceptible genes and create mouse models of human disease. In this review paper, we summarized some of the modern approaches that have fueled the explosion of the development of mouse disease models.
