Synthesis of 2-amino-3, 5-dibromobenzophenone

2-Amino-3, 5-dibromobenzophenone was prepared via Oacylation and bromination using benzene and 2-aminobenzoic acid as raw materials. The effect of reaction conditions on reaction was studied. It has been shown that under the following optimum conditions: reaction temperature 80°C, reaction time 9-10 h and the molar ratio of benzene to 2-amino-benzoic acid of 8:1, the yield of 2-aminobenzophenone can be up to 63.1% with the purity of 98.9%. The yield of 2-amino-3, 5-dibro-mobenzophenone can be up to 86.0% the purity of 95.5% under the following conditions: reaction temperature 38-42°C, reaction time 2-2.5 h and the molar ratio of intermediate to bromize of 1:2.5. The structure of the product is characterized by 1H NMR with the melting point of 97.1-97.8°C.
