Experimental research of high pressure dense phase conveying characteristics of biomass

Biomass entrained flow gasification is a new technology and high pressure dense phase conveying of biomass is a key issue need to be solved. In this article, pneumatic conveying experiments of two special biomass powders are conducted on the pilot scale high pressure dense phase conveying test facility. The results show that the two special biomass powders can be stably and controllably conveyed in this experimental system. Mass flow rates of both biomass powders increase with the increase of conveying differential pressure and conveying pressure. Bend Equivalent coefficients (K) of both biomass powders remain approximately constant when superficial gas velocities increase and the K values of biomass 1 are larger than those of biomass 2.And the K values increase with the increase of conveying differential pressure. Solid friction ratios of both biomass powders increase with the increase of volume fractions and conveying pressure.
