Using fibrin composite interfaces in vitro experimental model to study of the ultra-structures of the fibrin composite generated by the plasma knife for surgery and electrocautery

Stop the bleeding is a complex biological process named as the coagulation of human blood. The formation of the fibrin composite network is a very important step. The aim of the present study is set a fibrin composite interface experimental model in vitro to mimic the formation of fibrin composite network and compare the ultra-structures of the fibrin composite interfaces generated by using a plasma knife for surgery and electrocautery. A fibrin composite interface experimental model in vitro was set to mimic the formation of fibrin composite network and compare the ultra-structures of the fibrin composite interfaces generated by using a plasma knife for surgery to electrocautery. As control, the fibrin composite interfaces were generated by adding thrombin to plasma. The characterization of the ultra-structures of the fibrin composite interfaces generated by catalyzed with thrombin is a fine network. In both ultra-structures of the fibrin composite interfaces generated by the plasma knife for surgery and electrocautery, the individual fibers could not be clearly identified. Thickened and matted fibrin is indicative of the morphology seen. It is shown that there is a different model in fibrin composite interface formation. However, the ultra-structures of the fibrin composite interfaces generated by electrocautery were seen much coarse and loosely packed than the fibrin composite interfaces generated by a plasma knife for surgery. It may be due to the lower work temperature from the plasma knife for surgery methods. However, this is only a notable characterization of the ultra-structures of the fibrin composite interfaces generated by a plasma knife. To further study the better wound healing profile, which seen in the using of the plasma knife, the work, using platelet rich plasma or whole blood clots will be performed.
