Antitumor activity of polysaccharides from Lepista sordida against laryngocarcinoma in vitro and in vivo

•Four polysaccharides (LSPa1, LSPb1, LSPb2 and LSPc1) were purified from Lepista sordida.•LSPb1, LSPb2 and LSPc1 exhibited more potent in vitro antitumor effect than LSPa1.•LSPc1 evidently suppressed the tumor growth in mice bearing human laryngocarcinoma Hep-2 cells.•The various physicochemical properties resulted in the difference of antitumor activity of four polysaccharides.
