Study on vibration structure of nucleosides by PCARS

The PCARS (polarization sensitive CARS) is an improved CARS method, in which the nonresonant background has been suppressed effectively. The vibration structures of uridine, adenosine, thymidine and cytidine nucleosides were investigated by this method. The vibration modes of the double bonds can be clearly resolved. The spectral features were discussed, and these features may be used for identifying the specific bases in biomolecules of unknown composition.
