FM noise circuit model of a semiconductor laser and its applications

A small signal FM noise equivalent circuit model of a semiconductor laser (LD) is presented. The model allows the analysis of response and noise of an LD by using general circuits analysis software. Modeling results are in agreement with reported theoretical and experimental data. Some FM characteristics of an intrinsic LD are analysed by employing the model.
