Circuit model of semiconductor laser amplifier and its noise characteristics analysis

A circuit model of a semiconductor laser amplifier was presented. The model enables to use general circuit analysis software for analyzing the characteristics of semiconductor laser amplifier. The optical output characteristics of a detuned resonant type amplifier were analyzed by the model. The results are in agreement with the reported theoretical and experimental data. The noise characteristics of the amplifier were also analyzed.
