摘要
In this paper, a one-dimensional metamaterial based antenna near 1.6GHz which takes some advantages from the theory of subwavelength cavity is proposed for the design of a high-gain application. The antenna above is made from grids of metal periodically. Such design can present a low phase value varying at reflecting surface which contribute to enhancement of the gain of a antenna near 1.6GHz.A kind of so-called S-shaped metamaterial is etched on the surface of the patch while the upper section-Partially Reflective Surface(PRS) of the cavity is made of two rows of metal grids orthogonal to each other. Such design of cavity is taken from the fact that the reflection phase is negative on PRS. Furthermore, several capacities are set onto the second layer of the structure of PRS in order to improve the performance of the whole system. The proposed antenna system can provide a 2dB gain enhancement to the general patch antenna.
