Calculation of change interval at the signalized intersection

The paper points out the security hidden danger in practice which is brought by improper setting of change interval. And it analyses the braking performance of motor vehicles and driver behaviours. Considering the actual condition of the signalized intersection respectively, computing formulas are given to calculate the change interval of the signalized intersection between the situations with and without installation of countdown timers. The object is to ensure that the vehicles in conflict area can get a reasonable change interval to pass the intersection safely.
