Synthesis of spherical SrAl 2O 4:Eu, Dy long afterglow luminescence materials by spray pyrolysis

The long afterglow luminescence materials of SrAl 2O 4:Eu, Dy were synthesized by a two-step spray pyrolysis process. The morphology, luminous performances and spectra performances of SrAl 2O 4:Eu, Dy at different process conditions were investigated via the technologies of emission scanning electron microscopy, photo-luminance measurement, F-4500 fluorescence spectrophotometry and so on. The results showed that the spherical SrAl 2O 4:Eu, Dy long afterglow luminescence materials could be synthesized by two-step spray pyrolysis process. The morphology, size distribution and luminous performances of the phosphors could be affected by synthesizing conditions, such as precursor concentration, sintering temperature, additives, etc. The SrAl 2O 4:Eu, Dy phosphor synthesized by spray pyrolysis had lower synthesis temperature, better luminous performances, more regular morphology and narrower size distribution than SrAl 2O 4:Eu, Dy phosphor synthesized by solid sintering technology.
