A reward-centred model of anorexia nervosa: A focussed narrative review of the neurological and psychophysiological literature.

•We review the literature on reward processing in anorexia nervosa (AN).•We suggest that, in AN, there is not a generalised inability to experience reward.•We propose a reward-centred model in which overlaps exist between AN and addiction.•We use knowledge from neuroscience, reward-associated learning and habit formation.•Advances may come from greater emphasis on reward processing of AN-compatible cues.
