One of the most fundamental properties of CPS is the use of services in global networks. Concerning production systems this means to set up automated systemswithout knowing the concrete devices. The encapsulation of mechatronic process functions and their semantic annotation offer the basis for an abstract description of field device functionalities. It enables the invocation of services over system boundaries. This paper describes a method for the dynamic orchestration of automated processes based on service oriented architectures and semantic technologies.
