摘要
This paper proposes a new practical modular power converter, combining with the new power electronics technologies: the emerging emitter turn-off (ETO) thyristor device, modular voltage source converter and digital control technology. A modularized ETO based power converter with digital local controller is designed and developed. Comparing with the conventional power converter, the proposed power converter simplifies the interface between converter and controller, applies the self-sensor and flexible local programmable protection functions. The design is modularized and standardized which is suitable for high power applications. The prototype is demonstrated in the pulse tester and the boost converter. Experimental results validate its functions and performances.
