7.5% optical-to-terahertz conversion efficiency through use of three-dimensional plasmonic electrodes

摘要
We present a high-efficiency photoconductive terahertz source based on high-aspect ratio plasmonic contact electrodes. Terahertz radiation powers up to 105 μW are obtained at an optical pump power of 1.4 mW, exhibiting a record-high optical-to-terahertz conversion efficiency of 7.5%.
