Non-Linear Doppler Scaling Correction In Underwater Acoustic Channels: Analysis And Simulation

This paper investigates the use of non-uniform fast Fourier transform (NUFFT) in detection of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in underwater acoustic channels. We propose a new packet format and develop the necessary equations that show how NUFFT should be applied to this application and how the non-linear Doppler Scaling can be estimated and corrected in the received signal. We compare the performance of NUFFT with the traditional method of resampling through computer simulations and show how our method performs better in correcting the effect of non-linear Doppler Scaling.
