Selective behaviour of spin wave propagation in asymmetrically modulated ferromagnetic nanowires

We have investigated a selective behaviour of spin wave propagation under an alternate magnetic drving field in an asymmetrically sawtooth-shape notched ferromagnetic nanowire by means of micromagnetic simulation. By variations of the amplitude and the frequency of the alternate magnetic field, a filter-like selective behaviour and a diode-like asymmetrical propagation behaviour of certain spin wave modes are observed during a magnetic domain wall propagation in the nanowire. The preferential direction of a spin wave propagation and the filtering behaviour of spin wave modes are achievable by the geometrically modulation of the asymmetrically sawtooth-shape notched ferromagnetic nanowire.
