Unequal error protection transmission scheme for 3D meshes based on EWF

In order to improve the robustness of 3D meshes over the BEC channel, an unequal error protection scheme was proposed on the basis of 3D meshes partition and expanding window fountain (EWF) codes. Firstly, the wavelet transform method is applied to obtain the basic grid and a series of wavelet coefficients of 3D meshes, then we use EWF to provide an unequal error protection method for the different levels of detail of 3D meshes. The experiment results show that the method improves the decoding success rate of 3D meshes, and has important practical value in 3D meshes progressive transmission.
