摘要
•Comparison of structural differences between parotid and whole mouth salivary pellicles via QCMD (acoustically) and DPI (optically).•The first time hydroxyapatite coated DPI sensors have been used to measure salivary protein adsorption.•Data presented help to further define the mechanisms leading to the multi-layered structure of the salivary pellicle.•Demonstrates that salivary composition has an important effect on the structural properties of the adsorbed pellicle.
