Abstract

•Parasympathetic nerve (PN) function in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients is conflicting in reports thus far.•We examined PN function in OSA patients using the complex demodulation (CD) method.•The CD method revealed PN function to be unstable during sleep in OSA patients.•Instability of PN function in OSA patients was restored by continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment.
