CT signal heterogeneity of abdominal aortic aneurysm as a possible predictive biomarker for expansion.

•We investigated CTTA as a risk stratification tool for significant AAA expansion.•Medium texture (K) correlated with AAA expansion and predicted significant expansion.•Coarse texture (SD) correlated inversely with AAA SUVmax.•CTTA might have a role in helping to identify small aneurysm at risk of future expansion.•CT textural data appears to reflect AAA metabolism measured by PET.
